audioIt's a concept taken from taxonomy, the method of tagging organisms. Socially & personally we can use these services to share infromation, collaborate and mark items for later use. Varying levels or openness and privacy can be employed. Working with others you know & trust or finding those with similar interests is the strength of these social software systems.
